Edward (Eddie) Mulligan

My sympathy to the Mulligan family at this sad time. I have many memories of Eddie over many years at St.Luke's Hospital.

Sincere condolences to Eamonn and Martin on the passing of your much loved father. Eddie was one of life’s true gentlemen and always had a kind word for everyone.
He was very much a family man and was very proud of his two sons and their partners, Selena and Carol. He never tired of talking about them.
His wife Jo was the great love of his life. His unstinting and selfless care for her through several difficult illnesses showed the measure of the man. She meant the world to him. It must bring some comfort to his family to know that he is now reunited with her.
Eddie was a great talker and was one of the most positive and enthusiastic people we have ever had the pleasure to know. Everything interested him and there was no room for negativity in his life. He was definitely a “glass half full” type of person and endeared himself to all of us who were lucky enough to know him.
He enjoyed doing DIY and was very good at it. He also loved playing bowls and meeting his friends in the local Men’s Shed.
He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Rathfarnham won’t be the same without him.
May flights of angels sing him to his rest.

Everybody that knew my dad that is here or listening, please close your eyes for a moment now with your eyes firmly shut, picture Eddie how you want to remember him, but also think of a happy time from the past you had with him.
AND SMILE!
He could give the most mundane task an excitable, contagious worth while feeling when he was with you, rubbing his hands together without knowing it so funny.
That Charlie Chaplin like walk of his. What a true legend.
He conducted his life with integrity a moral code you could say, to do the right thing for everybody.
Many described him as a " true gentleman " but always prepared to go the extra mile if necessary to protect all of us from adversity.
He is now reunited with Jo the love of his life and many others you'll of known, forever.
I thank my big brother Eammon and his better half Selina for relentlessly looking after him for the last few years. RIP Dad, your be dearly missed.

Heartfelt sympathy to Eamonn and Martin on the passing of their Dad. Eddie was a thorough gentleman and we all enjoyed his company, especially at the Friday morning music sessions at Ballyroan Mensshed. We will miss the banter and chat over a cup of coffee.

It would of been Eddie's 84th birthday in 2 days on the 14th of April...
I am going to celebrate Eddie's life from 5.50pm for one hour and reminisce some of the amazing times that myself, Martin and both our families spent together , it would be nice if a few of you could do the same may be mention some and if possible email them to me as I am going to make a memories book for both of his sons. capersonal@outlook.com

Eddie loved the game of Bowling. He was a very popular member in our club and we had great fun with Eddie particularly on Tuesday evenings when he demonstrated his missile attack shots. It was with such sadness that I learned of the passing of my beloved brother, Eddie. A man of real warmth, humour and tremendous personality, which shone through when visiting us back in Rathdown Road throughout the years – being in Eddie’s company was always a genuine pleasure.
