I was deeply saddened to hear of Eddie’s passing. He was a much-valued family friend whose kindness, generosity, and sincere altruism touched the lives of many. I will always remember his warmth and shared acerbic humour, Christmas days spent together, and the many occasions when he was ready to offer help or encouragement without hesitation. I'm eternally grateful for the many walks and conversations we shared in St. Finian’s, especially during dark days - Ed's compassion and constant presence meant more than could ever be expressed. He will be greatly missed but always remembered.

I’m deeply saddened to hear of Eddie’s passing from that dreadful disease which has taken so many, including my own mother. He was a dear friend and a genuinely kind soul. I will always remember him with warmth and respect. Despite not living in Ireland for over 20 years I will still miss him especially when I return to visit Mullingar, as I always seemed to bump into him (and Matty) for a chat in his second home across the road from the family shop. My sincere condolences to his family and all who knew him.
