Sincere condolences to Jason and Sherlock Family on the sad passing of Eddie.
His blue fiesta was always rushed when he would pull into the shop to take us off to some part of North Cork, whether for matches or Avondhu trials, Eddie, calm as a breeze, driving the car, rolling the cigarette, 5 or 6 lads roaring having the craic and Eddie happy to be amongst it all.
He was a really great man who was a terrific influence on a lot of our lives in Ballyhea and I am delighted that i knew him and the he was around when I was that young hurler in Ballyhea and that Eddie was involved in our teams.

I was very sorry to hear of Eddie’s passing. He was a lovely kind man who was loved in Ballyhea . I have many happy memories of him at home with Jason in Castleharrison after matches.

Eddie was a gentle, kind soul who arrived in Ballyhea many years ago and he immediately got involved in the Juvenile section of the local GAA club. He fitted in like a glove and his personality quickly embraced the young players, clubs mentors and supporters. He became a favourite Ballyhea GAA clubman with all and that remains today, largely due to the way he treated the young and old with a warm, honest and genuine heart. He loved meeting people from all over and sharing stories.

May Eddie rest in peace.

He gave his all for Ballyhea Gaa and gave us the privilege of seeing his Nephew Jason grace Avondhu juvenile Gaa fields who often broke our hearts.

We have very fond memories of hopping into Eddie's car at Hennessy's shop for our underage hurling matches all over north cork. It was always a lot of fun on the journey and Eddie was so kind, patient and forgiving with a bunch of very loud young lads hanging out of his little car. Eddie gave so much time and effort to the GAA and to us and he will never be forgotten.

Eddie was a gentleman and will be warmly remembered by all who knew him. Condolences to Jason and the Sherlock family.
