I was very sorry to hear that Eddie passed away. I would like to express my condolences to you on your sad loss. I got to know Eddie through the BHAA over the years and he was a very nice man, whose presence at races and help in organising them will be very much missed. Eddie was a community man in the very best sense. May he rest in peace.

He enjoyed athletics but he loved his rugby. He was a great fan of Rocky Elsom when he came to Leinster. He fought the good fight to the end. May he Rest in Peace.

Dear Pat, Kirsty Leslie and Gavin, so sorry to hear of Eddie's passing last Friday , I prayed that he would return home to you all healthy and well but alas it was not to be. He put up a brave fight after so many months of trying he finally gave up the fight .I got to know Eddie many years ago through the AIB running team and we shared many races home and abroad with his friends Maurice and Tony who are no longer with us and now Eddie has joined them .Eddie will be remember as a kind and gentle friend to know and nothing was too much trouble to him .I will miss him but when I am out running i will think of him with many fond memories

We knew that Eddie had been a long time in hospital. He got the best of care and we hoped and prayed for his recovery. Alas when we heard the sad news, it was still a shock to lose a friend. He was a BHAA stalwart for many a year as a runner, volunteer and committee member and then auditor. This volunteer spirit showed his kindness and willingness to engage with people in a friendly and constructive manner.
The BHAA community will miss his smiling presence at races. We know that he had a loving and caring family who will miss him. His family should take heart from his goodness and a life well lived.
