My sincere condolences to Auntie Eileen, Helen, Eddie and Morgan on the passing of Uncle Eddie.

Eddie was a loving and caring uncle. I have many fond memories of spending time with Eddie, in particular during my childhood in West Cork (sailing off Baltimore, joining us for lunch when he was on business in Skibbereen and so many family events).

I will remember Uncle Eddie as a very thoughtful uncle and one who always had time for me as well as everyone around me. He was also a wonderful brother to Mum and we as a family will always be grateful for that.

My sincere condolences on the death of Eddie. May he rest in peace.

Dear Eddie, Morgan and the entire Sheehy family. Reading all the kind remembrances of your late father helps me know what a fine fellow has been lost to the world. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I miss you both and look forward to a time when we might all be together again and you can share stories of your dad. Until then, be well and reflect on the good life he enjoyed thanks to the grand family he and your mom have as their enduring legacy. Your dad lives on through you and your children.

Uncle Eddie was a familiar presence during my childhood: for years we spent our summers next door in Kinsale, and during the rest of the year he would often visit our house in Kilkenny as he travelled for work. Magazine Road was a habitual stop for us, when we were on the road to Kinsale. He was an accomplished yachtsman: I always learned something new when I sailed with him, and of course he was national Flying Fifteen champion in 1974, with his brother Alfie - my father - crewing for him. He was a kind man, a beloved uncle, and cared deeply about family. Rest in peace, Uncle Eddie.

No one could light up a room quite like Uncle Eddie. I will miss him. I remember fondly lunch with him, Uncle Dennis, and Mum in Kinsale a few years ago. He was working on Morgan’s boat in the harbor. Mum loved Uncle Eddie dearly - she often spoke of her dozens and dozens trips to Athlone with Eddie to visit Aunty Bernie and on 1 trip back from the USA I drove them both up and down on the same day – now that was a long drive from Skibbereen.
Uncle Eddie’s selfless disposition made him a joy to be around. He was a marvelous man, so proud always of his family, and will live on forever in our memories.

Uncle Eddie was a warm, kind and gentle soul who loved his family beyond words. He was a fixture of my childhood and a rock in my adult life. When we can meet after this pandemic we will share the hugs missing today.
