Condolences to the McCarthy family. Met Eddie once on O’Sheas Bus going to the 2007 All Ireland I boarded in Listowel and we were both in the back seat he sang several Kerry football songs on the way to Dublin, and a lot more on the trip home when we were all in good spirits with Sam on its way to Kerry. He had vast knowledge of Kerry Football could listen to him forever I thought we might meet again in the same circumstances. They were great days.may Eddie Rest in Peace

Eddie was one of many who played football with dad and his late brothers Willie and Jim in the field near the family farm in Ballygamboon. Not too many of them left now. May he rest in peace.

I first met Eddie in 2016 and we became firm friends. His love of all things Irish especially Gaelic football helped to cement our friendship. As a Dub we shared a friendly rivalry and watched many Dublin V Kerry games where Dublin triumphed and Eddie would complain about Kerry’s strategy in colourful language!
We also attended Mass on many occasions and most recently it was a pleasure to sit with him on Christmas Day.
I will miss Eddies sense of humour and his flirting! A true gentleman and a proud Kerry man it was an honour to be part of his life if only for a short time.

Eddie was such a special man that enriched our hearts through videos,singing songs and having the craic and banter about Dublin v Kerry rivalry. Although we never got to meet him personally we all truly loved him from afar. Rest in peace now dear Eddie.

I will never forget the kindness help and support they showed me when I lived in England. Eddie was larger than life and Mom always said he looked on Dad as the Brother he never had. He loved his native Kerry to the end and is now returning home to be laid to rest with his beloved wife Aunty Ina.

Eddie was a big part of our lives from an early age from visiting Eddie and Ina in England where there was always a big Cead Mile Failte, to their visits back to the Old Country for their Summer holidays. Eddie’s annual visit to Croke Park to support his beloved Kerry was always a great occasion for catching up with family and old friends. Eddie was very proud if his Irish roots and had an in-depth knowledge of it’s Gaelic Football history. We extend our deepest sympathies to Eddie’s family Anna, Michael, Eamonn and all his relatives. May Eddie rest in eternal peace with his beloved Ina .

Eddie, we never met, and that was my loss, however it was my pleasure to get to know you through Anna, and of course through your love of music and song and our little chats. You will be safely home in your beloved Kerry soon and may you rest in perfect peace. You were truly one of life's gentlemen and you will be loved and forever missed by your family. Sleep well your work is done

For the time I knew Eddie I loved being in his company which was full of stories and cheeky winks. Eddie and Bernie got on so well, both being Celts, and I loved listening to them talk, always funny.stories of Ireland and Scotland. You were so loved and we will miss you Eddie
