I wish to express my sympathies to the entire Holland family, but especially Edward's immediate family, Kathleen, Michael, Eamonn, Johnny, Helen, Ann and Mir on your father's passing.

Edward's visits to see my father were an integral part of our lives as children growing up in Smithstown. The chats about politics, farming, GAA and life in general will stay with me, along with smell of sweet tobacco smoke from his pipe.

He was a great lifelong friend to my late father, and for this I will be forever grateful.
