I only realised Eddie had passed when reading the Galway Advertiser this afternoon. He was a beautiful person. Condolonces to Geoffrey and Ailish and family.

We were saddened to learn of Eddie’s death, and we send sincere sympathy to his wife and family (notablly Geoffrey and Lourda), to his extended family and friends.
I first met Eddie when he was in Naughton’s, and had the pleasure of admitting him to his degree course in UCG and of seeing him blossom as a conscientious student and later as a dedicated teacher. We met from time to time in later years ( in more recent times on occasions when Geoffrey would accompany him to Mass at the Claddagh).
