I am deeply shocked and sorry for the loss of Ed. His lust for life and the enthusiasm he showed for everything that he put his mind to was inspirational. He expanded my library and pushed me to read classics that would not have been on my radar. He was always full of wit and intelligence and it was a pleasure to spend time with him. The world is a lesser place without him.

My deepest sympathies to the O'Hara Family and Natalie Byrne. Words just aren't enough but we will alway remember him for the brilliant man he was.
My deepest condolences to Edward’s family and extended family. My thoughts and prayers are with you, all at this sad and difficult time. R.I.P Edward 🙏🕯🌹

Dear Julia & Family, Please accept our sincere sympathies upon the untimely passing of your son, Edward. We are thinking of you all at this very difficult time and may he rest in peace. Patrick, Kitty Kelly & family Coulagh.
Goodbye Ed, my friend. You were a wonderful presence in our lives. A loveable rogue with the sharpest of wit and insight, you were also a kind and caring soul. You made us all laugh and smile, for that I am grateful and will cherish the memories I have of the time we spent together. My deepest sympathies to his parents and family. You'll be sorely missed pal, see you later
I have of late, wherefore I know not, lost all of my mirth. And indeed, it goes so heavily with my disposition that this goodly frame the Earth seems to me a sterile promontory. This most excellent canopy, the air, look you, this brave o'er-hanging firmament, this majestical roof fretted with golden fire. Why, it appeareth nothing to me but a foul and pestilent congregation of vapors.
Goodbye, you beautiful Maniac
Great guy great friends

I was shocked and saddened to hear of poor Ed's tragic passing.
Whenever i saw him he always seemed to have a smile on his face and was in great spirits. He seemed to just click with people with ease. A bright light gone out far too soon.
My thoughts are with his family and all who loved him.
There are no words to adequately describe Ed, he was truly one of a kind. He was charming, funny, quick witted, he had a cheeky smile and a serious face when needed. He was an absolute gentleman and a friend to so many. This loss is too real to comprehend.

My sincerest sympathies to Ed’s family and immense circle of friends. He will never be forgotten
Ed truly was one of a kind, with a Falstaffian love and lust for life mixed with Hamlet's keen wit and penetrating insight into all things. And he was more, so much more. Things were never merely ordinary with Ed around. There was always a feeling of the sublime that would often slide into the ridiculous which he never shied away from. He was a gifted mimic with great comic timing who would go to any lengths to make all around him join in and laugh, to enjoy him in fact. One memory is of him performing as a velociraptor reciting the "Now is the winter of our discontent" speech by way of The Beatles, Olivier and Peter Sellers. One of a kind.
A conversation could start on the essence of Dublin being expressed in the voiceover for the old Brennan's Bread ads to some obscure piece of Pre-Czarist Russian history (if such a thing can exist) and onto discussions on Kierkegaard and donkeys, and all done seamlessly. He had an acute sense of how everything is connected. We agreed on much but could never agree on whether Wuthering Heights was a masterful piece of writing or appallingly written which was the first conversation we had on our first meeting in The Long Hall all those years ago. Reading the condolences for Ed showed me how much he meant to a wide spectrum of people, not just me. I loved him and will always hold that love and memory in my heart. My sincere condolences to Ed's family, his friends and everyone who knew him. Love always.
Ed was a great guy and I always enjoyed his company. We were devil brothers at the Bar and I know that he will be sincerely missed by all. RIP Ed.
My deepest condolences to the entire family. Ed will be sorely missed by all those who knew him. He was a deeply charming man and was instantly liked by all those who he met. I will remember our times in the Kings Inns and at the Bar together very fondly.
Ed was passionate about life. He loved it & he lived it throughly. Ed was fun, he was funny, he was witty, he was bright, so bright, he was charming, he was intelligent , he was loyal and to be honest he was pretty damn cool! He was a big brother to me & he always will be a big brother to me. Ed enriched my life & I am so thankful that he came into my life. A light has gone out in this world with his untimely passing but he will live on in my heart. I will miss him forever.

Love you Ed.

Gary Byrne
No one you love is ever truly lost. Ernest Hemingway.
You will live forever in the memories of the good times we had together.
If I ever had a big brother I always imagined he would have been just like you Ed.
Rest easy my darling friend. My deepest condolences to your lovely family and friends who carry this deep sadness.

My deepest condolences to Ed's family. Ed was erudite, witty and great fun to be around. You never knew what to expect in conversation, but you would always end up with a smile on your face. Ed was one of a kind. Ní bheidh a leithéid ann arís. He will be sorely missed by all.
My sincere condolences to the family of Ed, his friends and all who loved him. Ed was a thoroughly decent man who had a great outlook on life. He could converse with wit and intellect on any subject and was well liked by those he encountered. A young man taken too soon. May he rest in peace.
My condolences to Ed's family on your terrible loss. He was a lovely person, funny, and friendly who always had a kind word as well as being a good colleague in the Law Library. May he Rest in Peace.
Met Ed during his time at the bar. He was kind and great fun. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
My deepest, deepest comforts to his mother and father above all, and his siblings. He was a brother to me, the wicked lad, and knew me slightly better than I knew myself. I think I'll need therapy now. Freud said our people are impervious to psychoanalysis, but I will prove the doctor wrong. I loved him, greatly, and I love you. May you find peace, his people, even after a period of necessary pain. The pain is the reverse of the medal.
Too young and too full of life to go. My deepest sympathy to Ed’s family and friends. You will be sadly missed Ed, may you rest in peace.
Deepest sympathies to the O'Hara and Connor families on the passing of Edward. May his love live on and bring you comfort and support in the times ahead.
Keeping you all in our prayers at this difficult time.
Very sad to hear of Ed’s passing - thinking of his family at this time.
Ed was a character. He cut through the supposed social hierarchies at the Bar and could relate to all. Didn’t matter what your background was, Ed was always up for a chat and had a wicked sense of humour. rest easy.
My deepest sympathy on the loss of Ed, whom I knew from his time at the Bar. He was always a very warm and friendly fellow. A great conversationalist with a terrific sense of humour, I was always struck by his gift for registering the surreal and ridiculous in the humdrum routine of everyday life. His easy-going nature belied the surprising depth of his knowledge on a broad and eclectic range of subjects. He will be much missed by everyone who knew him.
My sympathy and condolences to Ed's family and to his wide circle of friends. Ed was a cheerful and friendly presence in the Law Library and his loss will be keenly felt. My thoughts and prayers are for Ed and his family at this time.
Deeply saddened to learn of Ed's passing. Ed was such a wonderful kind soul.

May he rest in peace.
I am very sorry for your loss. I knew Ed from practice at the bar. He was a very well-liked and respected lawyer, and a lovely person. My deepest sympathies to you.
I got to know Ed in the Law Library. I enjoyed his easy-going nature and his positive attitude to life. You never knew quite where you might bump into him - I even came across him at self-defence classes! But whenever you did meet him he would always make time to have a quick chat and have a bit of a laugh with you. I am so sorry for his family and friends. May you find some comfort in the fact that he lived life to the fullest and enjoyed himself above all else! I hope he rests in peace.
I am so sorry to hear of the tragic death of Ed. Thinking of his family and friends at this time. Rest in Peace Ed
