Very sad to hear of Ted's passing. A gentleman through and through.

RIP Ted. You will be sadly missed by all who knew you. You were a great neighbour and friend to our family over the years.

Sincere condolences to Mr. Veal’s family, the Wilkinsons and all his friends. I met him one day in SVUH recently and realised, as we chatted, he was someone very special and a true hero. He spoke so openly of his life experiences.... past & more present and of his beloved Deirdre, her family and his relations and friends. He made a huge impression.

I lived next door to Ted when I was a child. He was a brilliant and very kind neighbour. He taught me many life skills... how to build a fence, how to grow sweet peas and how not to sweat the small stuff! He was the most positive person I ever met. I hope he's now happily reunited with Deirdre and Cindy. RIP Ted. x

I am saddened to hear of Ted's death. He was a vibrant, positive and engaging gentleman who I loved to meet and chat with. He will be missed by so many, may he rest in peace.

It was with great sadness that I heard of the death of our good friend, Ted. Ted was, for many years, Chairman of Kilmantin Arts. Thanks to him, this co-operative enterprise kept growing over the past twenty one years. Ted was always a very good-humoured man, beloved by everyone who knew him. He was truly one of Nature's Gentlemen. We will all miss his companionship. Deepest sympathy to all of Ted's family

..A true gentleman..he came to Ireland in 1969 .we worked and traveled together at Avoca mines. .always gave practical advise..Rest in peace Ted....

A great character with abundant zest for life and always such a positive perspective. It was a pleasure to chat with him and enjoy his company. He recently gave me a plant for a favour done; its pink flowers are flourishing these days!

One of life's perfect gentleman who lived his life to the full to the very end. As a co- founder member of Kilmantain Arts with Ted I got to know him and learnt so much from him. He will be missed by all in Wicklow Town . Condolances to all his family and friends.

Ted Veal worked as a volunteer with the Wicklow Adult Literacy Services for several years. He was very welcoming and helpful to me when I started there. He worked with students in one to one settings and was extremely helpful to them. He made a difference to their lives which is a wonderful legacy to leave behind.

So sorry to hear of Ted's passing. Only met him on Church Street about a week ago, always had a word and a smile whenever we met. Sincere Sympathy to Ted's Family. May he Rest in Peace.

We are so sorry to hear of Ted's passing. He so nearly reached 100. We feel so privileged to have known him and we will miss him. Such a unique and positive person with so many amazing stories especially his exploits during the war. What a lucky and full life right till the end. God bless you Ted xx

I loved his positive outlook on life. May he rest in peace

I met Ted two or three times a year over the last decade or so. I enjoyed his reminiscences of his life in earlier times. On our last meeting, we ran through a virtual concert of old-time music hall songs. Ted, of course, knew the rude versions that he and his fellow airmen sang back in wartime days. I will miss our meetings but I pray he has found a safe billet in heaven, now that he has his second set of wings. The holy sacrifice of the mass will be offered for the repose of his soul, next Sunday in the church of San Lorenzo in Palmanova, Mallorca.

Ted you were an inspiration to all. Your passing leaves a huge void. Kilmantin Arts will not be the same without you. Fly high Ted.

Ted was an extra-special person with an uncomplicated and positive outlook on life. He was a true inspiration. I will always remember our long chats and baileys on the rocks and how he always cheered me up. My sincere condolences to his family. Rest in Peace dearest Ted.

One can't look at the photo' of Ted in his RAF uniform with his big smile and not return a smile of remembrance of his good humour and geniality. He did, indeed, make our world a better place. He will be sadly missed by the Dand, Roper and Wall families who send sincere sympathy to the Wilkinsons, Ted's UK family and to those who remember him in RAF Waddington.

Ted had a long and eventful life. I met him during my time in Kilmantin Art Gallery and we had many interesting conversations. He was a great asset to the Gallery and he will be missed. May he rest in peace.
