Teddy was one of the first men to play rugby in Cavan in the 1950's and 60's, and a trailblazer for rugby in this county. Indeed his son Johnny and grandson Shane went on to serve as club captains of CCRFC.

It is with deep regret that we report the death of Edward (Teddy) McCormack at the age of 94.
He died peacefully on Sunday morning March 1st in Cavan General Hospital.
Teddy will be remembered as a very kind and soft spoken person.
While Teddy never actually played Gaelic football, he had a long association with G.A.A.
Teddy was best known as a masseur and an excellent caretaker of Terry Coyle Park. He loved the outdoors and much of his work was out around the pitch. He took great pride in lining the pitch for games-work he often performed early in the morning. He had a great rapport with all the players and he loved chatting to them.
Teddy will be greatly missed around Terry Coyle Park.
The Cavan Gaels Club extend our sincere sympathy to Teddy’s beloved wife Pauline. his heartbroken family, sons Brian (Eileen) & Eddie (Mary), daughters Trisha , Sandra & Andrea, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, all his relatives and many friends.
