Simply to express my sincere sympathy to all the Carneys, and what's left of the Stokes', on the passing of Eileen RIP. We, the Wallaces, are proud to be the children of another Stokes woman, Eileen's first cousin, Peg, from Ballyvocogue/Castle Hewson. Time to recall the great characters for whom Eileen was the centre of gravity --- Mick, Tommy and Pat Joe --- even going back to Den. How I wish I'd witnessed the conversations. Two consolations for you, the Carney family: Eileen's longevity and the degree to which she was so loved in her own right as a character among characters. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.
