Sincerest sympathies to Jesse and Kevin on Eileen’s passing. RIP
Sincere condolences to Jessie,Kevin and extended family on Eileen’s passing,a kind and special lady, rest in peace.
You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back, or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her, or you can be full of the love that you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she is gone, or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what she would want: Smile, open your eyes, love....and go on.
Love you Nanny xxxx

A fond farewell to a great lady, who I had the privilege of calling “my second Mammy”.
She put up with our late night Saturday shenanigans and revived us on Sundays with her succulent roast beef and yummy deserts.
May she rest in peace.

Dear Jessie, Sincere sympathy on the death of your beloved mother. Saying goodbye is never easy and age makes our loved ones more precious. I remember her fondly from day hospital days as a gentle elegant caring lady. May her beautiful soul rest gently with the Lord.
Deepest sympathy to Jesse, Kevin, Kevin and the Connolly Family on the death of your dear Mum Eileen RIP.
'May perpetual shine upon her and may she rest in the eternal peace of heaven.'

Luckily, not only will we have memories of you, but your traits are instilled through your son Kevin, who’s ‘good nature’ emanates in his actions, smiles, hugs, and through Jacinta who continues your legacy for ‘being there’ for us just as you were there for Mam. Like you, it is done quietly and with no fuss. I’m not so sure that she inherited your cleaning, baking skills!! …..She is our 4th sister.
Auntie Eileen, you were always so thankful for any kindness shown to you and your quote “if I can’t reward you the Lord will’. So we just want to say thank you for all the love and kindness you have shown to us, you are now being rewarded by the Lord.
Look after us ‘heathens’ as you’d occasionally call us down here and in particular keep a special eye on your ‘baby sister’ our Mam.
As in life, you slipped away once more quietly and without fuss on your final journey.
Farewell Auntie Eileen, We love you so much.

While there are tears streaming down our faces as we write this to you, we are also smiling, remembering the funny/wonderful times/days when You, Mam, Rosaleen, and on occasion Maureen, (‘the dolls)’ as ye were often called (Dad had another name he liked to call ye…. but best keep that a secret) were together. They called you the ‘dreamer’ and ‘always with your head stuck in a book’ However, you have been known to quote’ I’m going to say/not say this the next time I meet’ – but being the gentle person you held your silence and more often said nothing at all. Also not forgetting the "Lively" discussions you had with each other with lots of opinions, the debriefs after an event, the advice given which often fell on deaf ears and always the Woods attribute of tears and laughter that accompanied many get-togethers.
Remember the phenomenal music sessions in the Mountain Tavern, where Granny lilted, and each of the ‘clan’ did their party piece. One could hear a pin drop as you sang ‘the Spinning Wheel’.

Mam used to say ‘Eil is always there when you need her’. How true. You weren’t just her ‘older’ sister, you were Mam’s best friend and her confidante. Never a day passed, when there wasn’t at least one telephone call between ye, no shorter than 20 minutes! Never a shopping trip passed that if one ‘doll’ bought an outfit the other ‘doll’ also had to have one. It is fair to say, in the later years, every ‘staycation’ as we now call it, you and Mam were ready for the road……Jacinta being dragged along but being fully supportive on these trips (most of the time)!! (Is that a paradox we wonder)!
Luckily, your son Kevin had the broad shoulders to bring you, Pat and Mam for that memorable trip to Tavira where ‘tops’ and ‘big fish’ will always be implanted in our memories and recounted over and over again.
Our most recent memories are the funny and nostalgic times in Laurel Lodge with you and Mam when you’d be instructive with Mam and say – ‘We who are bound must obey’ , ‘put your feel up’, ‘Don’t give me much as I’m never hungry’ ‘your my baby sister’ and last but not least your quotation ‘in bed, not sick, a… out, come quick’!!
Agh such memories.

Out from our Mam, you have always been a constant in our lives. Some beautiful memories of how you have always been there:
• You came whenever needed to help Mam, give her a break, look after Granny and stay for overnights to keep her company,
• You sat quietly listening to one of us as we cried about a lost love or were sad,
• You gave up your bed (with electric blanket!) for 3 nights for your sick godchild,
• We visited you and Uncle Pat for our holidays time and time again and had the most memorable visits of going to the seaside, eating ice-cream etc, - not forgetting, reciting the rosary every night!!!
• You cooked us lovely dinners and desserts - especially your barrel cake:,
• You made gorgeous dresses for us (we missed out on the knitted cardigans!);
• Many years we celebrated Christmas together (though dinner often ran late as it was difficult to get Jacinta out of the bed)
Throughout all these occasions you gave us such love and kindness and never asked for anything in return and we will always be eternally grateful

Words can’t express my sadness at hearing the news of your mom’s passing.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and wish I could be in person too :( My heart is heavy knowing how much her radiant smile will be missed by you and all the family and I know God is watching over you now giving you strength and support. Of all your mom’s beautiful qualities, I especially admired her great faith which I know she always shared and showed and I remember her love of scripture too as she would write into her Christmas cards …so sharing in her honor the
scripture in Philippians 4:7 that your thoughts and feelings will be soothed by "the peace of God that surpasses all understanding” by means of Christ Jesus…I know she even named her home in Leitrim Village “Prague" in honor of the the Infant Prague and the
love of Mother and child … she is now with all our beloved and though I know how terribly she is missed I know in my heart we stay connected till we meet again xoxo and when we do, we will all be in perfect health once again!
I know you know how much she loves and adores you both and is so very proud of you and all you do - how thoughtfully and lovingly you have cared for her needs.
I love you lots, and sending you a big hug, which I wish could take away any pain you feel.
,
You are in my thoughts and in my prayers - wishing a rainbow over your head ...
with all my love always,
Nuala

Jessie, words are inadequate to express my sincere condolences to you and brother Kevin on the death of your mum, Eileen! Both of you have been wonderful and laboured so hard to ensure that Dad and Mom were comfortable during their latter years and lacked for nothing! What a blessing you both were making sure that all their ailments were dealt with quickly and that on their birthdays and wedding anniversaries, you were there to remind them of how much you loved them! Pat would be so proud of the 2 funerals held in their honour while Eileen was full of praise for you and brother Kevin during Pat’s funeral. Everyone who heard your 2 eulogies at both funerals would be full of praise for you as they were full of love and joy! Lots of love to you from your cousin Doney and the O’Sullivan family! x x x
