She was a legend and always willing to help at every occasion. I reckon we made close to a million pots of tea together, and rolled out several hundred miles of white paper tablecloth. My dear friend Yvonne, Nick,Colette,Thomas and all you beautiful family, I’m heartbroken for you all. Your mam was an amazing talented and very kind woman. I have so many fond memories of her over all the years. I loved when she called me Miss Daly. She’s the only one who did and I will miss that. Even though I stopped posting Christmas cards years ago. Myself and Eileen exchanged them every year, even all the years I was in the USA. She made my electric blue debs dress when I was a sulky teenager and whipped it up in no time. I still have this as I wouldn’t part with because your mam made it. Your mam could make anything with her hands. She was so talented. I will miss her big smile and the lovely chats we had at all your occasions. 34 was always a welcoming place from the time we were kids. Your mam was always so thoughtful and enquiring how everything and everyone was doing. She always made me feel like part of the family as does your dad. She has left an amazing legacy in her children and grandchildren who she adored. She was deeply affected by beautiful Nicole’s passing and I can just image both of them laughing loudly wherever they are now. Eileen was brilliant and I loved her.

You enjoyed your grandchildren coming to visit or be minded when younger or after school , & they enjoyed your home cooking, so proud of your grandkids but sadness when your beautiful granddaughter Nicole passed & even through her illness kept going , amazing, studying for her teaching degree & only this wk Nicole’s sad but proud parents Collete & David with her siblings Rachael & Shane will collect Nicole’s B.ED. degree in Uni. Nana Eillen would be proudly beaming with that wonderful smile that would light up any room ,now they are together in Heaven.
Nick when passing my place checked in with me to remind me to ring Eilleen re appointment so she would be comfortable with her feet. I saw you 25/7 & you were talking about organising Christmas gifts to get ready to send to OZ you loved doing video calls to your young grandaughters there & your son & daughter in law. Thank you all the years for your loyalty Eileen loved your company our chats , sadly your final Farewell is in St Mary’s Church Haddington rd where you helped & knew all the parishioners so well, so u deserve a great farewell
