So sad to learn to learn of Eileen, Mrs Fogarty's death. Extending our sincerest condolences to Paula, Caitriona & all the family. Carla & Melanie have especially fond memories of Mrs Fogarty as a wonderful teacher at Holy Cross National School.

I will always remember the warm welcomes from Eileen and Bill when we were at your home. Such a lovely lady. May she now rest in peace reunited with her beloved Bill and treasured daughter Noelle.

Dear Caitriona & Paula, I was so sorry to hear about Eileen's passing, she was always warm and funny, always enjoyed the craic. The best and funniest hostess for Christmas morning drinks! She is with her beloved Bill and Noelle, in peace now.

Our deepest condolences to Paula and Caitriona and family. As you know Mom (lily) met Eileen at teacher training college. They had a summer job in England with Peggy Long and had so much fun they came home penniless. There first teaching jobs were in ballina and they lived in the same digs. The fun they had . That went on thru their lives. Playing bridge hmm more chatting and eating and a few sips of gin and vodka was done with Tess,Maureen, Eileen ,Mary and Mom.
May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace with her beloved Bill and Noelle.

Dear Caitriona, Paula and the Fogarty family - my sincerest condolences to you on the passing of your dear and beloved mother. We got to know your mum in the last two years as she was a good friend of my mother's, Kay Devereux, in Four Ferns. She was so engaging, had a tremendous sense of humour and was wonderfully entertaining. My mother and our family will greatly miss those interactions. No doubt the many wonderful memories you have of your mum will sustain you in the weeks and months ahead. May your dear mother rest in peace.

Eileen and Bill brought real joy to our lives growing up. Many of my best memories from childhood have Bill or Eileen in the mix. News that the Fogarty's were coming down to Galway brought a smile to all! Bill and Eileen are reunited and no doubt, looking down laughing! So sorry I can't make it to the funeral - I am on nurse duty in New Zealand for Aly, my wife. I would have loved to have come over to pay tribute to an absolute legend. I still remember Eileen giving me both barrels (with a smile) for taking Murdoch's coin when I worked for Sky in London - she didn't hold back which is exactly what you want in a wise Aunt! Rest in peace.

Very saddened to hear of your passing. Thank you for the privilege of caring for you during my time at Four Ferns, I will always cherish our conversations and laughter. I tried calling you on your birthday, but i think you no longer remembered my name or recognised my voice. Still, you remained in my thoughts and prayers. You lived a wonderful 98 years, filled with grace and kindness. I remember when you told me that you had read my condolence message from one of the resident at Four Ferns, and now, I can hardly believe that I am writing this right now.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Eileen. I had the pleasure of working with her for many years in Dundrum and will always remember her encouragement and guidance for me as a young teacher. She and I shared many school occasions in the choir gallery and on school tours where her sense of fun always brightened the day.

Our late mother, Brid, was a lifelong friend of Eileen from the time they first met in Teacher Training College which was then cemented during the time they worked together as newly qualified teachers in Galway.
Mam often spoke with great fondness of the fun they had around Galway back in those days before they met their respective husbands, the late Bill and our dad Tom.
They kept in regular touch in the intervening years.
