Fond memories of Mrs. Garvey from the Comp. - her big smile, her passion for English and her love of the school library. A lovely lady.

Granny Eileen had a wonderful character, a gentle sense of humour and we have countless memories between us in which she is smiling broadly, laughing joyfully or exclaiming with faux horror at her "cheeky monkey" of a grandchild! The house was always great fun when we visited, and we were so well looked after - at many meals she just couldn't be kept in her seat because she had to be sure everyone had everything they could possibly want. From the amazing trip to Africa with its rainbow lizards and actual cheeky monkeys, to the homely comforts of apple pie with viennetta, we loved every moment spent together and are grateful for all the time we had.
It was apparent from early childhood visits to Shannon that Clem & Eileen have both played enormously influential roles in Shannon. It wasn't often we could walk about "down below" to get the messages without being accosted by what seemed like half of the town, most of whom were former pupils of Clem and or Eileen: all of whom wished us well with kind words to say. We are extremely proud and happy that our grandparents are so well thought of in the town in which they chose to make their home and that they love.
Eileen was a loving mother to four children, whose many successes in life are surely in no small part testament to the groundwork laid and environment cultivated by our grandparents.
With that said, Clem and Eileen epitomise a great power couple!
A large family will all miss Eileen very dearly indeed.
