I heard of the death of. Eileen from my friend Mary Bradley (nee Meade).
We lived in Balydesmond from 1945 to 1953. Eileen was great friends with our family (Hynes) particularly to my late sisters,Delia and Mamie.
I was the youngest in the family but remember Eileen very well. I went to see her a few years ago together with Noreen Meade. That is when I learned that Eileen had a daughter also called Myra like myself!
May her soul rest in peace.

Eileen was a lovely gentle woman who always had a smile and a chat for everyone she would meet in the shop, and was part of our parish life for decades.

Eileen and her family have for decades been an integral part of Ballydesmond G.A.A. club on and off the playing field and of Ballydesmond parish through their family business in Clock House from it's time as M.J.Cronin's through to Kearney's Centra where Eileen, up to very recently, was an ever-present in the day to day life of their shop and her passing leaves us greatly saddened at the loss of another wonderful character indelibly linked with our village and parish.
