It's very hard to put this loss into words. Aunty Ei was so much to so many. So, I'll just say what she meant to me. When Jennifer died so tragically, I was 16 and it destroyed me. I couldn't handle being at home so, Auntie Ei let me hijack her grief by letting me stay for nearly a week in her home. A mother who just lost her youngest daughter somehow had the capacity in her wrecked heart to bring me into her home and share the loss. I remember one night, the doctor came, because most of us had trouble sleeping, and handed out sleeping pills. I took one but it didn't work. I was just lying on the couch. Next thing I knew, someone was gently rubbing my forehead. When I opened my eyes, she had this expression on her face that somehow conveyed love, sympathy and a desire to help me. That was my Aunty Ei and I will miss her everyday. My love to all of you on this terrible time. The last of the Legendary O'Keeffe women has gone to join the rest and the world is a lesser place for it.

Sad to hear of Eileen’s passing. She was a lovely person inside and out. Although I couldn’t attend the service it was comforting to watch it online. May she Rest in Peace. Condolences to the family 🙏

DearJoe,Suzanne,Elaine,Gwen and grandchilren. We offer our sincere sympathy to you all on the passing of beautiful Eileen. Such an amazing lady. I first met her when we were on the Residents committee together, when I was newbe in Kingsfurze. She was always always the 'go-to' person for teapots/coffeepots for our Estate Mass etc. Always pleasant and a joy to meet.

Eileen was a big part of my early childhood in Kingfurze, and I have fond memories of time spent in your home during those years, where everyone was always felt welcome. She was a beautiful lady, and I know her loss will leave a big void in your family but I’m sure her legacy will live on in you all and her much loved grandchildren. Love to you all.
