Eileen Kiely

It was in 1965 that my first wife (sadly deceased) and I first met Eileen and Jim. We hired Jim to drive us close to Carrantoohil so that we could climb it and unfortunately took a different route down and missed Jim's return. Hiking back to Killarney to reimburse Jim we were welcomed into their home as one of the familly, looked after, and treated with great hospitality. After that we kept in touch, shared Eileen's grief with Jim's passing Christmas eve, our daughter's birth in 1986 called Siobhan, my wife;s passing in 2000, and my marriage to Gail in 2002. Frequent letters were exchanged and we always looked forward to Eileen;s beautiful cards every Christmas, Easter, and St.Patrick.s Day. Visiting Eileen in her cozy cottage at Fair Green will always be in our thoughts. Eileen was such a lovely lady full of charm and humour We will really miss Eileen and her greatly anticipated letters. Our deepest condolences to all Eileen's family and our prayers are with you.

Our sincere condolences to Mabel, Brian, Desmond, Marie ,Joan and families.I remember fondly our visits to Fair Green as teenagers with our dad Michael(Micky) to see our Aunty Eileen, Uncle Jim and and our grandfather. We always had a wonderful welcome, and completely spoilt by this lovely lady, she always called me Christy, I sincerely regret that I didn’t get to see our dads last sibling one more time.

So very sorry to learn of Eileen’s sad and unexpected passing. ‘Twas just a few weeks ago we met Eileen for the first time in years at Mike’s funeral. Eileen, one of Killarney’s old stock, was a delight to meet and chat about times gone by and always with kindness and respect for everyone.
