Condolences to the McFadden family on the death of Eileen. I met Eileen on her 80th birthday in Carrick, and being a local I was able to confirm the building where she was born all those years ago. The building was the former District Hospital located on Summerhill and now used by Leitrim Co. Council. The McFadden Touring company were in Carrick at the time performing in the Town Hall. I have great old memories of their many visits to Carrick in my younger days. She told me she first performed on stage at the age of five. May her gentle soul rest in peace

I have great memories of dealing with Harry when we ran the Carnival in Mohill in the 1960’s. As always Harry proved himself to be a decent and honest business man.

Back in the day the McFaddens were among the top entertainers in Ireland, going into the small, isolated rural areas as well as the cities and larger towns with their variety shows. Eileen’s talent playing the guitar and singing country songs, was admired as well as her good looks. The McFaddens are well remembered all over Ireland, the Irish Midlands, and very much in my native place of Drumlish, Longford. Great memories! May Eileen Rest In Peace.
