My deepest sympathy to Eileen's extended family. I had the pleasure of working with Eileen for over thirty years in the Library in NUI Galway. We had great times and spent many wonderful weekends together in the Abbey Glen hotel in Clifden, it was always a joy to be in Eileen's company
Eileen was such a wholesome person and a loyal and wonderful friend.
May she rest in peace.

Deepest sympathy to Eileen’s family on her passing. We were both very sad to hear this news. We were frequent visitors to the nursing home to see a relative and Eileen would always have a nice gesture or word to say. It might be the nice dress I wore or just it was nice to see us again. We will miss her lovely greetings. She had the most beautiful gentle nature. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Condolences to Eileen's family, what a lovely lady, so kind to us students when the Library was smaller and the student population a fraction of what it must be now. I remember
calling in with my daughter and met her the week of her retirement, still a smiling face in the old foyer area. May she rest in eternal peace.

I was so sorry to read of Eileen's passing, which was made all the more poignant for me by seeing that Alice Downing, a contemporary of Eileen's in the University library, had also passed away on that same day. I have very fond memories of both, built up over many years; also of Eileen as a lovely near neighbour. It was always a pleasure to run into her on my walks down Oaklands, most especially over the many years after we had both retired.

We were sorry to learn of Eileen’s death. A luminously kind and good-humoured presence in the library - and outside.

My deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the lovely, gracious, smiling Eileen who has gone home to join her loved ones in Heaven. I got to know Eileen through visits to an elderly neighbour of mine, Bonnie, a fellow resident in CPNH, who died just a year ago. Bonnie and Eileen always sat together at the reception area in the NH and visitors were met with a wonderful smile from Eileen. Bonnie was very deaf and Eileen had wonderful patience with her, and did her best to ensure that she understood what we were speaking about. If Bonnie dozed off, Eileen & I would chat away together and she shared some of her own experiences with me, about her life in Salthill, her work in the Uni , her friends in Galway and relatives in Glenamaddy. The reception area will be a little darker today without Eileen. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
