Many fond and cherished childhood memories of meeting Eileen's mother, when my father, Anthony, would visit his Aunt Nellie in Dublin. We would have met Kevin and Séamus too, over the years, but didn't get to meet Eileen or Máirín until much later. Indeed, my first recollection of meeting Eileen was at my grandfather Michael's funeral at Kiltrustan. Afterwards, back at the old farmhouse at Creta, we heard stories from Eileen and her brothers of their summer holidays spent at this very farmhouse.

We shall, of course, remember Eileen today and everyday, along with the other deceased members of the McLoughlin family, who welcomed us into their home all those years ago and provided a special hospitality that has lived on in the memory.
