I followed the Lovely Requiem Mass celebrating Eileen's life and was very moved by it all. It was my good fortune to have received an education from Mrs. O'Mahoney for eight full years in Glenbeg. She gave us all a great schooling academically. I have so many fond memories of school plays, music lessons,story telling and much,much more.
Later, Lorna-Jane and Jack got to meet her on pilgrimages to Lourdes and found her to be the kind lady that I had described her as.
She is in heaven now, being rewarded for all the profoundly positive influence she had on so many people. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.

Teaching with Eileen was a joy and a privilege. Eileen graced each new day with human kindness and great heart. Many of the past pupils of Glenbeg have put into words what only a child will see and remember best.

I was filled with sadness the moment I heard that Eileen had passed away.
I, alongside so many others, was given the absolute best introduction to life outside the home & the very best education from this most remarkable person.
Oh how we both laughed together later on in life, when she reminded me of the many interesting situations I found myself in, during the school day. Probably too many but she reassured me by telling me of the enjoyment & entertainment I provided her with.
I absolutely loved and respected her so much and ,
I am so happy I got to express my thanks and appreciation to her some years back, one very special visit, where we shared some lovely moments .
Eileen held the most special place in my heart and always will .
Thinking of you all at this most difficult and sad time .

Dear Micheal, Niall, and Eoin: my most sincere condolences from the heart.

Eileen, your wife, your mother was an extraordinary person with an even bigger heart full of love for her loved ones, friendship for her friends, kindness for everyone around her, a touch of character when needed and always humor, since she loved it so much and it made her so happy.

It’s a great shame that she’s gone, and I’m so glad to have known both her and her husband Micheal, also a great person.
Eileen now rests in peace.

I want to wish you and the whole family lots of strength and encouragement for the coming days.

I have very fond memories of her & the great times I had in her school. I was very misfortunate not to have her teach me as I heard nothing but amazing words spoken about her at home from my older siblings & parents. I will always remember her warm smile. Rest in peace Eileen.

I have very fond memories of Miss Hughes and latterly Mrs O’Mahoney as one of her pupils in Glenbeg N.S.
She was a wonderful teacher and inspiration to all of us children in our early years.
I have cherished memories of her tutoring us after school time in Dungarvan to learn our lines for the school plays and concerts, she took us all under her wing and gave us confidence to perform to our best, always with encouragement and kindness.
We were very fortunate to have her as our teacher, and as we grew older have often thought how she was a very special person in our early years. We met up thirty years ago when our own parents passed away, her kind words then meant a lot, and regret not meeting since to thank her for all she did for us.
May she rest in peace.

My sincere sympathy to Michael, Niall & Eoin on the passing of Eileen. As a pupil in Glenbeg NS, I remember how fondly Mrs O’Mahoney used to talk about u all & share stories with us. She was a fantastic teacher in so many ways..we were so well schooled academically & really felt the benefits of our education in Glenbeg when we moved on to secondary school but my fondest memories are of the amazing school concerts that Mrs O’Mahoney did with us.
I am forever grateful for the kindness Eileen showed me when I was training to be a teacher myself & in the first years of my career when I ended up working alongside her when I got a job in Glenbeg. I found myself learning from her all over again. Thank you for taking me under your wing Eileen.

Eileen taught here in the school for just over 35 years from the early 1960s to her retirement in 1998. Initially she taught alongside Pat O Neill and then on his retirement, she became Principal of the School. She taught many parents and grandparents of children currently in the School. She was a great teacher and left a lasting impression on many. She loved music and acting and was involved in the Dungarvan Choral Society and the Dramatic Society for many years. Eileen will be fondly remembered by all in the Glenbeg School Community that knew her. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis
