Deepest sympathy on the death of Eileen. She was a wonderful woman of great aforesight who made a huge contribution in many facets of Irish life and particularly to the development and status of the tourist industry. May she rest in peace.
Dear Eoghan, Yvonne and Ava,
Eileen was a remarkable, admirable and inspirational woman and I am very glad to have known her. So sorry to hear of the death of my school friend Eileen. We both left Dominican college Muchross Park in 1958. We met a few times since and I remember her as funny, clever, great company. My sympathy on your loss, particularily at this d.ifficult time.
To you Eoghan,Yvonneand Ava , I send my deepest sympathy.
I meet Eileen first in 2005 through IWF and so enjoyed her company , her charm and kindness to a Northern incomer. She led a remarkable life from the outset as we read in her book and I think if she had a fault it was her modesty about her very considerable achievements, particularly at a time in Ireland when life was not easy for women .She was always so grounded and a real mover and shaker , at the same time so entertaining and optimistic .A real tonic to be with .
We will miss her greatly , may she rest in peace .
Paula
