Such a fabulous lady. Loved meeting her in my neighbours house next door, they were great friends. Last time I met Eileen there in March, she had received a guitar from her friends for her birthday, and she played and sang some songs she had written. The singing, the music and the words were gorgeous. So talented. Loved hopping into her in the Galway market also to say hello.

I was so saddened to hear of Eileen’s passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. Although I haven’t seen Eileen in quite some time, I remember her as such a warm and welcoming person. I’ll be thinking of you all during this difficult time, and I hope your memories bring you comfort in the days ahead.

I remember Eileen as a genuine easy going fun loving girl who had a great laugh . To her husband extended family and close friends my sincere sympathy .

Ollie, Catherine and family, I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful Eileen. I met Eileen in Thomond College in 1983 when we were in the same English class, along with Orla & Jenny. The four of us became great pals and have many good and funny memories of our college days .Our strong friendship continued after college, I cannot believe that we four will never be together again. Eileen was so special, full of kindness & joy, I feel so lucky to have had her as a friend. She enriched all our lives and I will carry her spirit with me forever. Rest in peace Eileen. Love Gilly

Eileen, I will miss you, especially when the Fair is on. Catherine and I would walk into town and our first stop always was to see yourself. You would open the door with the biggest smile, give us both a big hug and welcome us in. You had a heart of gold, always there for people.

Eileen's spirit will live on through all the lives she touched. She was an incredible person and will be greatly missed.

My deepest sympathy to the O Donoghue family , and Ollie on the sad death of Eileen. It’s many years ago since I first met Eileen in Kiltormer. She was a pupil then in Kiltormer N.S. And her family were very good friends of mine . Her father , Dan , travelled to many countries on holidays with me and I especially remember our trip to Kenya , our trip by car to Carrara where he wished to see the Carrara marble. As we travelled over the Alps there was a snow slide and we spent the night in the car. I have lovely memories of Dan and Doreen and all the family. May you rest in Peace , Eileen .

Many a weekend I was lucky enough to have spent sitting between herself and mags at the top of the market. She always welcomed me in, never mind how busy, with her warm smiles and open ears. Her warmth so sincere and her endless kindness, she was and will continue to be a person of great influence and inspiration to me. I could never thank her enough for all the ways she helped me, I am eternally grateful.
