Éilis Maloney

Christmas 2024 will be long remembered in Ballinrobe for many sad, unexpected losses of dear friends in Cornmarket.....Your loss, those dark days in January was just such a shock. Dear Carmel and Vincent, Brian and Clare it was just so heartbreaking. We are all devastated for you at the sad, sad loss of your beautiful daughter Eilis...she had achieved so much in life. What a lovely girl. I am so so sorry for this sad, unexpected loss. I hope you are all doing as best as can be. Sorry I havnt seen you personally I was/ am away. Dear Carmel,
I remember almost 2 years ago you told me you were doing a few days walking the Camino with Éilis, and I thought it was really lovely that she chose to do it with you, and how nice it was that you were that close. I am so sorry for your unexpected and tragic loss. My deepest sympathy also to Vincent, Seán, Claire, the extended Maloney and O’Dowd families on the sad passing of Éilis. May her soul be with God and at peace surrounded by eternal love. I'm so sorry for your loss.

My Dearest Carmel and Vincent, Seán, Claire, Niamh, Cillian and all family and friends,
I was deeply saddened and shocked when I heard only recently of Éilis passing (RIP). I never had the pleasure of meeting Éilis but I have been told by Niamh that she was an exceptionally kind and beautiful little person. Carmel and Vincent I met you both when Seán and Niamh bought their home from me in Enfield and I was most touched by your kindness, thoughtfulness, positivity, genuine care, consideration and what a truly lovely couple you were. I know that you are both exceptional people and truly loving parents and I am so sorry for your huge loss. May God give you all strength at this heart breaking time. I promise to remember you all and Éilis in my thoughts and prayers.

I studied Applied Languages with Éilis at the University of Limerick and I have so many happy memories of our time spent together. Éilis was so intelligent, she was the top of every class and she lit up every lecture hall and tutorial with her smile, quick wit and fun-loving personality. Éilis introduced me to my first boyfriend, so I have Eilis to thank for her match matching skills! Éilis was truly the life and soul of our course and she was friends with everyone.
