Deep sympathy to all the family on the death of Eilish who was a colleague in RTÉ and was very kind to my late parents. I was in Wimbledon at the time of her death and was thinking of her relative the late Eileen Dooley another great friend. May they rest in peace.
So many unforgettable memories of Eilish crowd my heart and mind. From 1st year in St. Als Cork where her aunt, the legendary Sister. Bonaventure, (Bona to us) was Headmistress, to her starring role as the Duke of Plaza Toro in the school production of The Gondoliers, to meeting her later when she emigrated to Dublin, where she christened the cat after the professor of history at UCD. So many stories, so many adventures, as the youngest of an exceptional family she lived life to the full. Add to that her unique, kind, caring, generous nature, we were lucky to know her
and will miss her dearly.
I would like to offer my condolences on the passing of Eilish, for many years she was a good Friend, she was kind hearted and generous, a really nice person
Eilish was my mother, Eileen Bofin’s dear friend and neighbour. She was also a dear friend to me and my family over many years. Our deepest sympathy to her family and friends from myself and Sten Johannessen.
Over many years Eilish was ever generous with her time and spirit, first to me and later my family. The news saddened us, but led to us recalling so much about her. Please accept condolences, from myself, Elector Kilusungu, and Susan Kilua Bofin.
It was always a delight to talk to Eilish when she came into the bank where I worked for decades......I certainly didn't deserve the warmth of her words on the card she gave me when I retired ...her present of a Pearse dish/plate a firm favourite..I feel v lucky to have known her..
Deepest sympathy to her family and friends.
I will remember Eilish for her great warmth and keen intelligence. She had great generosity of spirit. May she rest in peace.
Deepest condolences on the passing of Eilish. I remember her fondly from our days in UCD. She brought joy to all who knew her.
I was so lucky to meet Eilish through my aunt Mary Golden. What fun and very enlightening discussions we had over lunch in Dun Laoghaire or at Eilish's home in Monkstown. She was such an inspiration. Rest in peace Eilish.
Condolences to family and friends on the loss of Eilish, a generous, open hearted and talented woman who gave me great advice when starting out in my career in PR.
Eilish was landlord to my wife and I for a number of years, and was always considerate and kind.

After that, we stayed in touch, and I met with Eilish weekly, ostensibly to help out with a few things but, in fact, she was as much help to me as I was to her. We had great chats, putting the world to rights.

I admired Eilish greatly; her resilience, generosity, open-mindedness and unrelenting positivity were an example. I will miss her terrific company and her sense of fun. I am fortunate and proud to have known her.
Eilish was a longtime friend of my mother, and close family friend. Always generous, never stopped reading or engaging or trying to understand the world around her, and infinitely patient. I never cease to be amazed at what she did in her life - the stories she'd mention in the run of conversation, like dropping into the chat how she had spoken to Patrick Hillery about the referendum to join the EEC. Whenever I was back from Scotland, I would always be keenly questioned on the politics there. It's fair to say I wouldn't be the person I was today without the friendship of Eilish and Brian. She lived such an incredible life and was one of the very best people I have had the good fortune to know.
my deepest sympathy to Eilishs family .Ill miss her, a great lady .
It is sad to say goodbye to the Godmother who was always there for me and who generously entertained us and our friends. So many experiences and memories - Clonmacnoise in your Triumph Herald with the roof down... jazz concerts and the best fresh food in Ireland. Rest in peace with Brian. Love Tim and Grace
Dear EIlish ,
So Many fond memories from Peig about you and your work and views on current events. What a loss. I so well remember John Sweetman and I moving books up to your study. {Peig so loved you and wanted to check in each day to see were you ok. All good memories. May you rest in peace/ Maureen .
Mrs Pearce was a wonderful kind woman, full of fun and always encouraging. I first met her as Eilish MacCurtain, when she worked as Information Officer for the department of P&T. Among her many other duties, she edited the staff magazine PagusT, before moving to greater heights in Foreign Affairs and RTE. She was a woman, ahead of her time, modest , thoughtful and generous of spirit. It was a pleasure to have known her.
Deepest sympathy to the MacCurtain and Pearce families.
May she rest in peace.
Lovely lady - so kind and helpful. Eilish asked me to write my first article for PagusT, the Post and Telegraphs staff magazine that she edited, along with doing many other jobs during her time working in the GPO for the Department of P&T.
Our deepest sympathy to the MacCurtain and Pearce Families. We cherish our memories of Eilish's visits to Margaret here in Dún Laoghaire. She was always interesting and entertaining. Her gentle presence and warmth endeared her to everyone. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of many. May her gentle soul rest in the peace and joy of heaven.
Deepest sympathy and condolences from Eilo O'Neill
What a beautiful member, Eilish, of a great family!
Your mother, Nancy, stately and amused at the top of Trimleston, your Michael, Nancy and the memorable Peig! And Siobhán, whom you so resembled. Outings of carefree madness! Your steadfast and protective work for RTE — and all the bright, modest generosity of your delighted welcoming spirit. Much love to all the dear family who will miss you so much. Codladh sámh, darling friend.
Eilish a beautiful woman whose smile lit up our lives. . Along with Eric Guiry Eileen Bofin we will remember Eilish in Trafalgar Lane...She was wise and childlike at the same time and supporter of the arts. Your spirit Eilish
shall not be quenched
My deep condolences to all of Eilish's relatives and friends. I met Eilish through her sister Margaret and it was a pleasure to be in their company together and hear so many great stories of their family as well as of their wonderful professional accomplishments. They both were the personification of kindness and compassion for all they encountered. May they both rest in the company of the saints now.
My sympathy and prayers for Eilis, a beautiful human being. It was always a treat to meet her and Margaret and they were lovely with each other.
Such a lovely human being, always thinking of others .So many great memories : as a kid, out for the day in her Triumph herald soft top, the pictures in town, and later she was so good to my own children and wife. She will be so missed. Dublin just won't be the same without Peig and Eilish.
Fondly remember xmas mornings with yourself and your glamorous mother Nancy in Siobhans house
Rest In Peace

I'm so sorry to hear of Eilish's passing. I was Eilish's secretary in RTE for 2 years way back in 1979/1981 and she was a very fun and kind person to work for. She and Brian (or the Colonel as she jokingly called him) invited me to their home in Monkstown a few times where I also had the pleasure of meeting her sister Sr.Ben. Eilish always had such great stories to tell. My condolences to all the MacCurtain and Pearce families. RIP.
Dear Eilish, we remember her warmth, fun and friendship. Eilish in her open top Beetle with her stylish straw hat! Her loving compassion to those less fortunate who called at her door. We will miss your liberal, wise and thoughtful neighbourly contribution to our life in Trafalgar Lane. You were never 'doolally but brave and courageous. We will miss you. Rest in Peace.
