I had the privilege of occasionally meeting Eilish in the last couple of years while visiting Cairn Hill. I would come away from our brief chats feeling cheered and lifted. Eilish was a wonderful person and lady. Caring and compassionate to staff and students in Marian College for such a long time. Generations of staff and students were privileged to know and love Eilish. May she rest in peace.

Eilish was a wonderful lady. For those of us who worked in Marian College she was so supportive and was a central part of what was a family of Marist Brothers, lay teachers, support staff and students. She is remembered with great fondness.

Her late husband Jim was instrumental in me getting my first ever real job with Irish Life way back in 1969.

There will be stories and there be more stories. When you live as long as Eilish, there are many stories and cherished memories. Miriam, Gerry, Mairead and all of Eilish's family and friends, I would like to offer my condolences to you on behalf of John and myself but especially to you Miriam. Living a long life meant Eilish had to deal with a lot of sadness as she survived her beloved Jim and all of her peers. Despite that I know from you Miriam, your mam always let the joy in and one of her greatest joys was the birth of each grandchildren and great grandchildren. I know it was particularly difficult when she announced it was time for her to reside in a nursing home and yet she deserves huge admiration for facing up to the frailty that comes with old age. You ensured there were joyous times with trips to Killmac.,100th birthday celebrations and only last year a trip to the city at Christmas where Eilish charmed all of the flower sellers in Grafton Street. Of course Sean's trips home from Canada also brought great joy. Eilish will be missed but she has left a great legacy which will live on in you Miriam and all of those close to Eilish. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

So very sorry to hear of the death of " Mrs Rea" as we always called her as students in Marian College. Always pleasant & cheerful we we were asking her to do photocopies ect for the College drama group - she always came to the shows too!
Our paths crossed again many years later when i worked in Irish Life and would meet her coming into the pensioner's functions. Be thankful for her long happy life. May she rest peacefully.

I had the pleasure of meeting Eilish through her beloved niece Emily and was so honoured to have spent the time with her that I did.

She was a remarkable woman, With remarkable stories and a remarkable Joie de vivre.
She was always ready to lend a listening ear, Bestow wisdom that only a woman of her calibre could provide and of course remind us to live life to the fullest.

Feel truly blessed to have had the time with her that I had and to have had her in my life.
