I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Eimear. She was my first teacher and really defined the role - she challenged, encouraged and responded to our needs, showing great interest in all of us. On behalf of myself, Kevin and Steohen we wish o pass on our condolence to the Ogartaigh family on the passing of Eimear.
From our arrival in Moyola Park in 1969/1970, we had the great fortune of having the hogartaigh family as back to back neighbours through thick and thin.
In later years, Eimear was a loyal neighbour all along, and more importantly, in our mother's later years.
Eimear dedicated her life to the care of her dear mother, and remained fully committed to the education of the youth of Galway.
A truly wonderful human being, and a pleasure to know.

Eimear was always so lovely to all of us. She was there in Scoil Iognaid for each one of our journeys beginning in the school. She was an essential part of our growing up. She was the greatest Vice Principal you will ever know. We will miss her dearly and her encouraging words of wisdom. May she rest in peace

Eimear, I can’t believe you are gone. I pray for your family and all those who loved you. Thank you for being a wonderful influence on me during my years in Scoil Iognaid. Ba mhúinteoir den scoth í Eimear. Chuir sí béim an-mhór ar an nGaeilge i gcónaí agus ba rud iontach é sin. Bhí an-bhrón orm nuair a chuala mé an nuacht. Go raibh míle maith agat, Eimear, as ucht gach rud! Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Eimear was known as the 'Book Lady' as well as 'Muinteor Eimear' in our house and our kids didn't even go to the Jes. However, the neighbours did and whatever books they borrowed from the school library, ours read them before they were returned. In later years, I used to meet Eimear shopping and got to know her a little, I can only guess at the void her early death will leave in your lives.

Sincere condolences to Eimear's family and friends. Eimear was our eldest sons first teacher in Scoil Iognáid and by extension our first teacher. From his first day there, we knew we would never have to worry after leaving him in seomra a haon, because it was obvious he was in the the best possible care. From nurturing a love of Irish, to reading, to looking at the world around them with an open mind, to technology, to living the Jesuit ethos and most importantly to always respecting their teachers, as well as imparting great advice to us as parents, Eimear did it all. The world has lost a very special lady and we as a family are so grateful for the positive impact that she made on our childrens' lives as students of Scoil Iognáid. May she rest in peace.
