Dear John. We were so sorry to hear about Ethne. If we had known sonner we would have arrended the funeral. We have such fond memories of Eithne. Always warm and friendly. So shocked to hear of the death of dear Eithne while ,like my dearest Anne, she was out of the country. They were great friends and I think especially of the magic times we had in The Hague when John and I were sent there for 6 months in '68. Eithne was a warm-hearted, vivacious, talented woman and the best of company. Her passing, to me, cries out for a lament of the calibre of Eibhlin Dubh Ni Chonaill's epic caoineadh.
