Sincere Sympathies Gerry on the death of your sister Eithne. I taught with her for many years in Kilbarrack and knew her as a warm, friendly, artistically gifted person. She was a great teacher and there was always a buzz of excitement in her classroom. I remember once, at the end of a staff meeting where she appeared to have been diligently taking notes, she handed me a most realistic portrait of myself.

So very sorry to hear the news this evening that Eithne had died. Far too young to go😢. I worked in the same school as Eithne in Dublin many years ago - she was a gifted artist and very popular with everyone, staff and children alike.
She also stayed in my house for several months before she returned to her beloved Clare. She introduced me to set dancing, which I still do all these years later. Sincere sympathy to her husband and children, to her brothers and sisters, particularly Maureen, whom I haven't seen for a long time, and her extended family. Suaimhneas síorai do Eithne. 🙏

I was a colleague of Eithne for 10 years in deprived area of Dubln. Her gentleness, kindness and efficiency was an inspiration for all who knew her. Her artistic skills, always downplayed, were special. An abiding memoy is a queue of 30 children having their portraits sketched by Eithne ,as Xmas present, in about 90 mins. Staff, parents, children loved Eithne
