Dear Barry,

On behalf of the President, the Executive, the complete membership, and all your friends in Leinster Rugby Referees I wish to extend our deepest condolences to you, and the whole Redmond family on the passing of your mother Elizabeth.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.

So sorry to hear of Bette's passing. She had a long life but I will always remember her as a kid on Hazelbrook.

I remember her and your dad and each of you as I grew up. Particularly Brendan and Janice.

Unfortunately, I couldn't attend your mum's funeral as I was in Cork helping mind my 93 year old mother in law. But all the Redmond family are in my thoughts.

Bette isn't gone. Yes, someone from Hazelbrook has left the stage, but she still lives with those of us who grew up there and remember him.

Don't grieve. Celebrate her. She would have!!

To all my nephews and nieces, Betty's family, my condolences. Your mam was very special. I was the recipient many times of her hospitality.She loved music and knew lots of songs and would belt them out with gusto. Some saint said that at the end we will be judged on love. Betty will surely pass with ist class honours. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

When we moved to Hazelbrook Rd about 50 years ago, Betty was the first person to come to our house to welcome us, she was a lovely, caring and friendly person,
