My Mother Annie and her sister from Letterfrack, Connemara were employed by the Vernons. All I ever heard was a story of kindness and a long relationship was fostered by the families. The Vernons hosted my parents wedding breakfast in 1944 and some 67 years later Betty would attend our youngest daughter's wedding. A bond formed in the 1930's was still flourishing in the second decade of the 21st century.
Nobody worked more diligently than Betty to keep the bond strong. Here caring, kindliness, generosity of spirit and true humility enriched all our lives Although life wasn't always easy she remained the link between the families, attending both of my parents funerals. She continued to keep regular contact. Even as her mental clarity faded somewhat, I cherished these calls. Betty was the golden link in this living chain of contact- always kindly, dignified, caring and supportive. We thank her for the bonding memories and the awesome softness. We celebrate and thank God for such a wonderful person. May God reward her for her wonderful caring with both our families.

Condolences to Betty's family on her passing. RIP. Betty was a lovely lady who always had a word and a smile for everyone.
Although I only knew Elizabeth for a couple months, I felt as though I had known her my whole life. I always remembered seeing her walking around the estate with her heels on, always the most glamorous one around. Betty was always happy to share her life stories, and was always talking about her children, her boys and how much she loved them. Although she couldn’t remember us as well in her last few months, she was always delighted to have us in and to offer a cup of tea and biscuit. She brought light to our day as carers, always.
Our sincere condolences to Elizabeth's family on her passing. A lovely lady and neighbour. May she rest in peace.
