To Vanessa and other family member: I was so very sorry to hear from my brother-in-law (Ken) that Betty had passed away over the Christmas period. I have such fond memories of when we worked together many many years ago when I was just starting out. We had such fun and so many laughs during that time, first with Kenneth Kilbride as our boss and then of course with the one and only Michael Regan - who Betty took under her wing! Also, our trips to Navan when Bill would have a dog or two running. I cant remember if they were winners but certainly other punters we knew felt they were bound to win if they spotted Betty and I there!! We kept in touch each year at Christmas time when we each sent the other cards with a robin on. I know that Betty will rest in peace - she was one exceptional lady.

I am only hearing this news now. I worked with Mrs Kelly (even though she told me to call her “Betty” I could never call her that - I always called “Mrs Kelly”.) for over 20 years in Regan McEntee solicitors. An absolute stalworth and an amazing lady to work with. And she had just the best handwriting! Comhbhrón ó chroí libh go léir. Heartfelt condollences. Ní bheidh a leitheidí aríst ann. There won’t be the likes of her again. Unique.
