Dear Bet, since first meeting you in Shannon in the early 1960’s you have been a dearly loved friend.
I value those years and all we shared throughout them so much.

So sorry to hear of Betty’s passing. She’s was a lovely woman, so elegant and always smiling.
I remember my first time to go to church in Skerries and she insisted that Matt & I sat in ‘her’ pew - what a lovely gesture and one that made me feel very welcome.

I was a former pupil of Betty's in Holm Patrick school Skerries, and remember her fondly from childhood, always present at church, and always Miss Kavanagh she was a constant in my life for many years, to my younger self she was mystery, traveling to far away places. To all of Betty's family, and I still call her Miss Kavanagh, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Betty, she was my primary school teacher, and a great one!! I have such fond memories of my time spent in Holmpatrick National School!! I remember Summer terms when she used to come to the beach with us when we were collected from school!! I still have a beautiful pen which Miss Kavanagh gave to me, when I qualified as a primary school teacher too!! May Betty rest in peace x
