Throughout my life I spent many a weekend in Sligo seeing my Auntie Lila alongside Auntie Sally, Granda Joe, Uncle Philip, and Cousin Tara for as long as I remember. The last few trips over the years when Lila was in Nazareth House were always so special because no matter what there was always time to see her when it was never guaranteed. I'm going to really miss her but I'm so grateful for all the time spent with her, and always sneaking me rich tea biscuits when my ma wasn't looking.
Condolences Tara and family on the death of Elizabeth.
May she rest in peace.

Sincere Condolences, to Philip and your extended Family on the sad passing of your dear Aunt Lila.
May her gentle soul Rest In Peace.
Fair wind to your wee boat, Lila.My aunt Lila was an independent, intelligent, irreverent, entertaining woman.Lila, with her sisters Sally and Nan,was an integral part of our chilidhood in Derry.Lila was highly skilled and respected in her professional life.“A factory girl”she called herself as if that was something ordinary but what did that mean?It was the business of making shirts that were the epitome of quality. When the shirt factories went, our Lila turned her talented hand to making high-quality shoes.I will remember Lila as a strong character,a brilliantly funny storyteller,a straight talker. She had the sharpest of minds and an endlessly colourful vocabulary.Lila was my aunt but she managed to be like one of us weans which says something!Lila played a big part in my development which is true for my siblings Philip,Gráinne,Joseph and Roisin.I’ll never be able to imagine Lila without smiling or having a smirky snigger.Lila made many friends in Sligo-thank you all for looking out for Lila and making it easy for her to be at home.My sister Roisin and her man Kevin have been constant in their care of Lila as have Philip and his daughter Tara.Without Róisín,Kevin,Phlilip and Tara,Lila’s final days would have been difficult.Thankfully Lila was able to slip away peacefully in her sleep.Thank you Lila for everything, for the glow, the smiles, and the Muttley-like sniggers that you leave behind you!Fair wind to your wee boat Lila Doherty,Keep going, let nothing get in your way.
RIP Elizabeth ( Lila )❤️
