We were so sorry to hear that Liz one of our founders member has passed away RIP Liz
Deepest sympathy to Liz’s family on the loss of a wonderful member who always thought of others before herself. Our son Thomas started riding lessons with Liz on Saturday mornings when he was 6. Thomas rode Tabitha Twitchit (Tabs) named after a Peter Rabbit character. Liz encouraged Thomas to enter for the RDAI Rider of the year in 2002 and under her gentle guidance, he won, resulting in him being part of a RDAI demonstration at the Horse Show. Even after Thomas grew too big for the ponies, Liz remained an important part of our lives. We will miss her greatly but feel very honoured to call her our friend

So sad to hear of Liz’s death , our deepest sympathy to all the family
I am very sorry to hear that Liz has moved on. As a youngster, I remember her from church in Trim Cathdral. My dad, Scott, used to cut hedges for her in Augherskea. My mother, Vivienne, used to help with Liz’s beloved Riding For The Disabled. Though I hadn’t seen Liz for many years, she was mentioned fondly in my chats at St. Andrew’s College with Mandy. Thinking of you all at this sad time.
Dear Liz, I have not seen you since Covid and regret I didn't pursue the journey to Augherskea. You were, with your mother, heroines of mine in your love of and care for donkeys. You were inspirational women, full of kindness and good humour. Rest in peace after a life well lived. Love, peace and blessings. Mary

Sincere condolences to the Sanford Family on the sad passing of Liz , may her soul Rest in Peace . Liz will be fondly remembered by the parents & children of St .Marys Special School whose lives she touched with her skill and resilience . Liz welcomed each child and ensured a safe and happy place for each to ride a pony in the comfort of Bea& Tucker’s stables assisted by the group of volunteers. Under her stewardship Liz guided the pupils , (whom I was privileged to teach), and each child was afforded her kindness & patience. Her attention to detail ensured that every child had fun and learnt new skills , both in equal measure . Liz’s steadfast commitment to the RDAI will always be honoured and her stories of adventure will always be remembered.
