As a young bank teller I knew Miss McCarthy as a formidable lady who expected and delivered high standards in everything she was involved in. With the passing of time I knew Lizzie as a charming and witty character who delighted in regaling us with stories of her beloved Cloyne and who always took time to enquire after mutual friends and how they were doing. That roguish glint in her eye will be sadly missed, but I have no doubt that a great welcome awaits Mac from the many great friends that have gone before her. RIP.
