I remember Elizabeth very fondly. I am saddened to learn of her recent death. She and John were very kind to me in the early 1980s when, as a young woman, I was travelling very far from home. They were generous, gracious and charming, extremely hospitable to me and great fun.
My sincere condolences to Elizabeth's family.
My sincere condolences to Elizabeth's family.
I was watching Mass the other Sunday from Mount Merrion on the webcam and I couldn't quite see who was reading the epistle but Elizabeth came to mind and then I realised it wasn't her. I am very sorry to learn of her death via Sr Nora and remember how kind she was when our father died six years ago this month. At the time we were looked at documents via Mary McGlynn about how she had done so much to encourage lay involvement in running the parish and had invited Dad (a neighbour in Ardilea) to talk about Vatican II. My condolences to you and your family Mary from the Fishers. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.
Our deepest sympathies to you Mary, and your family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

My sincere condolences to all the family. I have fond memories of Elizabeth in my capacity as President of the Catholic Women's Federation (Ireland), and especially the evening when I was a guest at the presentation to her of the Crucis Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice by Archbishop Dermot Ryan in 1984.

All our sympathy and love to Mary, Walter and family at this sad time
Mary, Saddened to hear of the passing on of your mum to the next world after a long and fruitful life in this one. I imagine it was some consolation that she died in the care of Cedar House in the grounds of Mount Anville, her connection to the Convents of the Sacred Heart having been so strong and consistent throughout her life. May she rest in peace. And may you and your family find consolation in recalling her life well lived.
Our deepest sympathies.
Elizabeth was one of the finest people I have encountered over the years who came to worship in Mount Merrion Parish. She had a terrific sense of furthering the role of women, and of the laity generally, in the Catholic Church. This endeavour was all the more remarkable in that she did that so very well in collaboration with male Clergy, and male volunteers alike, always seeking broad consensus and working with great harmony and integrity. Her presence amongst us will be particularly missed. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a hanam uasal.

We are so sad to learn of Elizabeth’s death. She was a remarkable person full of warmth and humanity always interested and interesting. Elizabeth first met my late parents( Garret & Joan) at a wine tasting in 1947, when such events were certainly not the norm. She continued to stay ahead of the curve. May she rest in peace. Mark & Derval FitzGerald Dublin
