I am so sad to be reading this death notice. My sympathies go out to all of Elizabeth's family and friends.

We at La Leche League of Ireland are devastated at the passing of our dear and cherished co-Leader & friend. Elizabeth provided breastfeeding support to many families in her voluntary role with us and as an IBCLC. For her 36 years of service, we will be forever grateful.

An inspiration: Elizabeth was the Operational Lead for Healthy Trinity, a founding member of the Breastfeeding Committee and established a La Leche League of Ireland group on campus which thrives to this day. Elizabeth held a doctorate from The School of Nursing and Midwifery, Trinity College Dublin and worked as an academic researcher specialising in lactation, breastfeeding support, peer support, volunteering, mental health, population health, work and organisation psychology, human-computer interaction and cultural historical activity theory.

Elizabeth was so loved and has touched the lives of so many babies, mothers and Leaders, leaving us with a sense of the warmth and generosity of her gentle spirit. Elizabeth will live on in our hearts and minds as we continue to support breastfeeding families in Ireland and worldwide. May her beautiful soul rest in peace. Our thoughts are with Niall, Conor, Meadhbh and Liam and with all her family and friends.

I am so sorry and saddened to hear of Elizabeth's passing. She was a fabulous, energetic and passionate person. It was wonderful knowing her, feeling her energy and learning from her. I had the pleasure of co-hosting a wonderful breastfeeding conference with her during covid. She has done amazing work supporting breastfeeding moms and parents, and in breastfeeding advocacy thruough her research. Her legacy lives on. I’m shocked to hear of Elizabeth’s passing and send my love to her family. If it wasn’t for Elizabeth’s kindness to me on the birth of my daughter I would never have been able to breastfeed her. Elizabeth came into my life again after my children had grown up and once again she came to my rescue.

Very sad and shocked to hear of Liz passing. I have fond memories of her being my Sgt in C Coy. She looked out for us girls especially and at the time we didn't really see the amount of care she put into us. But once i became a mother i knew exactly the place she was coming from. So glad i did get the chance to thank her on one of the times we bumped into each other. Rest easy Liz thoughts and prayer are with all of her children and family

I am genuinely saddened to learn of Elizabeth's passing. Her empathy, compassion and kindness is what I think of most when I think of Elizabeth. We had so many terrific conversations when she was out with us in the IPH Tallaght during her PhD years. She also supported me personally on my own breastfeeding journey with my first daughter, her expertise was exemplary. I will miss her. To her family and friends, my heart is going out to you all. It’s with great sadness that we know of Elizabeth’s departure. Even though our encounters were limited to a few LLL meetings, I was struck by her knowledge about breastfeeding and by her loving, non-judgmental support for breastfeeding mothers. Such an accommodating personality, she’ll be terribly missed. Pray that God gives her family the strength to bear this loss.
