I well remember Elma at the History Teachers’ Association. But before I met her I had ‘met’ her through her textbooks. They were the school books you recommended to your class. Meticulously put together, they showed a deep understanding of the mind of the student. Suaimhneas dá h-anam uasal.

Dear Anna I am so sad to hear of the passing of Elma so soon after the passing of my own husband Denis. Elma was a big part of my childhood along with you Anna and your lovely parents. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Elma’s passing. Elma was such a lovely person. My dad Donal Wills and Elma were first cousins & I had the pleasure of meeting Elma a number of times . When I had a history project many years ago in school she offered to help which was so kind and I really enjoyed her company and appreciated the help which was given so generously.
