Dear Bob, Isabelle and Molly and all Emmas family
I was so sad to hear of Emmas passing and I cant possibly imagine how you are all feeling. I worked with Emma years ago in FreshStart where her bright, positive personality and loud snorty laugh made a challenging job very easy! She had an infectious good nature and brought the best out in us all. There were days that we laughed so much its hard to believe we were at work. Long after we went our seperate ways we all continued to meet up regularly and I'll never forget the bravery, calmness and matter-of-factness that she approached her illness with. She was one in a million and we were all so lucky to have her in our lives, albeit for far too short a time. Mind yourselves and Ní ligfear i ndearmad í. Dx

Our eldest and our only sister was undoubtedly the wisest having completed a Masters Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation at UCD. As the only girl She bravely led the way for the 3 younger brothers growing up together in Mayo, before moving to Vancouver Canada. She fearlessly chose to return home to Ireland following her education at University of BC in her early 20’s.
We will remember her fun-loving energy, her compassionate sincerity, and ability to connect by getting right to the heart of an issue or to 'trim the fat' as Dad used to say.....She had wit and humor that challenged the best of banter, and of course her infectious laugh, and occasional snort, which would always result in more laughter!!
She was Smart, Strong and Dedicated, She was a talented Royal Conservatory Pianist, filling the walls of our childhood home with her beautiful music! In addition to that she was an extremely strong and fierce competitor in Swimming; winning many competitions before going on to becoming a lifeguard!
We imagine now that Emma is looking down on us, with Dad beside her. We want her to know that we will always admire how kind and loving she was and that she was the most courageous person we’ve ever known.
