Yesterday, 29/12/08, I visited the place where you rest. What a beautiful place, and beside your loving dad, I brought my little son Alyn (8 months) with me, and its as if he could see you. I know you were there looking at us, and you head our words and prayers.
Emmet, I missed your funeral, as I never even knew it was on, I am trying to bring myself to call to your mum, but I still cannot. You should not be gone from us, you should not be gone from your loving wife, I only met her once in Blanchardstown Shopping Centre with you, and you looked so happy.
Remember all the times we laughed in Carrick, and Carlow ! now you are re-united with Bill Walsh !!! say hi for me. All I can say Emm, is, I hope you are as happy in heaven, as you were here, when we were best friends, for 19 years.
love always,
Al

Emmet was my best friend in school and i have just found out this terrible news now. It's so sad, I met him 4 months ago in Waterford and we had a lovely chat. We also lived together in Carlow for a year while we were in college and were closest friends.
My heart felt condolances to his wife, mum, sisters and brothers. I cannot believe you're gone Emm.
