We said goodbye to Eoin yesterday (Tuesday). He was laid to rest one day before the 6th anniversary of another music buff, Frank Coyne and music legend Leonard Cohen. Eoin's favourite song, "Crucifixion" by Phil Ochs was played at his funeral. Bob Dylan sang "Knockin' on Heaven's Door". Eoin knocked and went straight in. We will all miss you but never forget you. Keep rocking.

Deepest sympathies to eoins family on hes passing he was a gentleman.i will never forget our first time meeting.it was the morning nirvana's unplugged in New York album was on sale I was 16 at the time and a massive nirvana fan and always will be.downstairs in sherwoods high St was the place to get your music in them days and I wanted to be one of the first to get the great album so I went down at 7am to beat the crowd but i was beaten to it.there was a giant of a man standing there huge man with a huge beard and hair that was half way down hes back.we talked for over an hour about nirvana other bands including great kk bands kerbdog engine alley and funhouse.i was just a kid but he spoke to me with kindness and respect for my age that I never forgot.rest well man and enjoy the great gig in the sky

Dan and extended family , we are so sorry to hear of Eoin's passing . He will be forever remembered for his support of the arts scene in Kilkenny, his appreciation of all artists and what live performance gives us .I think he did realise how loved and appreciated he was . Eoin, a true gentleman, will be missed, however his influence will long live on. Kilkenny Arts Festival always appreciated all the events he went to ,,,he had and continues to have a special place in our thoughts .

I remember Eoin fondly from my short visirs to stay with 'Auntie Bridie' who Eoin and his brother Dan lived with. Eoin had great patience and even let us look at his amazing vinyl collection. He was endlessly patient when we turned up. Much love to Dan in what must be a very difficult time and may gentle Eoin rest in peace.

Eoin, I remember fondly having the chats in the various thrift shops as we would go through the LP and Single records on offer. You loved your music. A good table quiz would always take your fancy. You were a true gentleman.

I first met Eoin when I was 14 in a pop quiz in a bar in the old Arcade on High Street (Mike's maybe?). I was on the other team. I lost heavily - obviously. But I learned an awful lot already in those 2 hours. Eoin was the embodiment of the fact that music is far more important than it gets credit for. Not entertainment, but a fundamental element of the good life, and a matter of the utmost seriousness and necessity, as vital as food. The beating heart of all things good in human experience. Eoin didn't pontificate or lecture that point. He just demonstrated it by going about his business. I hold that lesson dearly, so thank you Eoin, sincerely. You made probably all of the gigs I ever played in Kilkenny, and I am very sad to miss you final gig. But my thoughts and thanks are there. Rest in peace.
