I was his Spanish teacher for 3 years, but Eoin taught me more than I have learned from my own grandparents and family. A very wise man and loved by his entire family and friends. He was a real friend. I am very sorry to hear this news. My deepest condolences to Olivia and her family.

Eoin was a much loved member of our Spanish -English exchange group, where he often impressed us with an extensive knowledge of not only Spanish and English but a multitude of other languages too, always bringing in interesting phrases, words and stories.
He had a great sense of humour and his sharp mind and warmth will be missed by all in our group.

I left the Sem 41 years ago and had the fortune of having Eoin as my teacher for my last two years. He was extraordinary, his hand typed notes,his interest, his explanations made the difficult easy.He went above and beyond to help us...and that is appreciated to this day.Such was his influence that I ended up teaching Science and trying to pass on what he passed on.Condolences to all his family.

Eoin was so full of love to give and share. In every French lesson we had together, Eoin mentioned Olivia and his daughters, always showing how much he cared about his family. It was such an honor to meet him on a Spanish trip with other friends who also fell in love with his beautiful energy and heart. Eoin's laughter, humor, and compassion made him a unique person who will never be forgotten.

Sincere sympathy to all of the Ó Carra family on the death of Eoin. A great Deputy Principal in my time in St. Brendan's, who led a group of 14/15 year olds on a great School-Exchange to Germany around this time in 1994. Eoin was a visionary, involved in so many activities in the School alongside his teaching; in languages, music, other pursuits, and in his interest in people generally and the students of his school in particular. Most of all, it is a terrible loss to his family, but I hope they know the way in which he is remembered well by me, and I'm sure thousands of other ex-students of St. Brendan's College Killarney, provides a little comfort and solace in the days ahead. He made such a positive impact on the lives of many, and I was one of those to benefit from that, for which I will always be grateful. May he rest in peace, and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.

My sincere condolences to the Ó Cara family, Eoin was one of my favourite teachers and I would suggest he was for many more whilst in St Brendans College, a great Educator and a pure Gentleman. Thoughts with the family at this sorrowful time.

He was a great teacher and we looked forward to his science classes. He was great with the photography classes as well - he used go to all the chemist shops and get the out of date film and give it to us so we could practice and understand the photography process. Great memories of him.

So terribly sorry Olivia, and family. I was always very fond of Eoin, He was the greatest teacher anyone could wish for, He instilled a love of Science, Maths, & Photography in all his students in the Sem. He is the reason I went to UCC. to study Maths and Science and later, build my own darkroom to develop huge photos from old negatives. His enthusiasm, friendliness, & great humour were infectious. My deepest, heartbroken condolences to You and all your family.
