Eoin (Talos) French

I'm listening to Eoin's music here now at work on a rainy Friday morning. What a voice. I had the privilege to see him live as Talos two or three times down the years.

He will be deeply missed by all that knew him and will continue to touch many others through his music...

I'm deeply sorry to hear about Frenchy's passing. It's taken me some time to find the right words, as it's been hard to process. I had spoken to Frenchy just a few days before he passed, and it's still hard to believe. He was a beautiful person in every way.

Though I’ve been away from home for nearly 15 years, every time I returned, Frenchy was always one of my first stops. He greeted me with such enthusiasm, and we always made time for coffee or drinks. I have fond memories of our trips down to Derrynane on long weekends, and I always admired Frenchy's incredible talent for everything – from surfing to rugby and music, all while being the most humble person you'd ever meet.

I had the privilege of playing rugby with him for a few years, and we shared many great times at the Kinsale Sevens. His pace and positive attitude were especially needed on those tough second days!

I haven’t been home since his passing, but I know I’ll feel his absence deeply when I do return to Cork. He was an amazing human, and he’ll leave a huge gap in the hearts of many. My deepest condolences to Frenchy’s family.

Eoin's art accompanied my every night for the past couple of years, providing a sense of comfort through my darkest times. So sorry to hear this. His work will continue to evoke cherished memories and be a source of strength.

Eoin was such a kind, genuine and talented soul. I had the pleasure of getting to know Eoin at various stages of both our lives, first in CBC - training with him up in Lansdowne after school. In college, we met again through working in Soberlane. And finally, through attending many Talos shows in Dublin & Cork, always. We will never forget him, and his beautiful music will always remind us of the great times we shared with him.

To Frenchie, mo chara.. my heart is broken. I will forever treasure the memories of playing rugby alongside you in CBC, lifting the Barry Cup together, playing music in the studio in Garrettstown and the many night outs and laughs we had together.. I will also never forget your kindness to us after mum passed in 2020, regularly calling into Dad to check up on him. That’s the kind of selfless person you were.

I love you and will miss you every day. Rest easy my brother.
