Eric was a great neighbour and is hugely missed on the Lane. Eric was great company and we have very fond memories of him. We think about him a lot.
Andrea, Erica and Orla ...you do not know me but I feel I know you as your dad never stopped talking about you all.
His love and pride in his family was apparent for all to see.
I last met him two years ago in Dublin where friends who had worked in Trinity and myself and Brian Linden travelled from Belfast to meet. It was a wonderful afternoon of fun and craic and holds a special place in my heart .
Eric was one of my all time ‘favourite people’ who was loved by all who knew him.
He will live on in the hearts of the many friends, students and colleagues whose lives he touched.
It was a privilege to have known Eric both in Roslyn Park and then later at Trinity.
He always made time for people, went to great lengths to help and was so kind too.
He will be greatly missed. Sincere sympathy to Andrea, Erica and Orla and family.
Eric was a true gentleman, he made such a difference to each of our children's lives. RIP
Andrea and wider family, it was a privilege to have known your dad as briefly as I did. He was every inch a gentleman and a true scholar; always open to new ideas and possibilities, accepting and non judgemental. I'm sure he's left you all a fine legacy to remember him by.

Andrea, Erica and Orla, sincere sympathies on the death of your Dad Eric. He was a lovely man and a great friend to my Dad. May he rest in peace.
A truly remarkable man who I first met in Rosslyn Park in the late sixties, (the days of the scooter! ) Eric was so kind and compassionate to me in my early youth and I will always be grateful for the help and guidance he gave me through very difficult times in my life. My sincere condolences to his children, grandchildren and family.
Andrea ,Erica ,Orla I was privileged to work with your dad in Trinity and remember him as being very kind and generous with his time and knowledge when I worked in the Careers Service. My lasting memory of Eric is an event Eamon and I attended with himself and your mum shortly after I joined Trinity and before your mum passed away so suddenly. We had such good fun that it made me realise the courage he had in dealing with the loss in his life of someone so vibrant.
I was privileged get to know Eric as a colleague and friend since he began working in Trinity Careers Service over thirty years ago and got to know this small joyful man whose quiet manner, ever present smile, and quite professionalism were but pointers to the character that was Eric. A man of huge intellect, tempered with what seemed to be the accumulated wisdom of the ages, warm-hearted, caring and kind, he was my friend.
With sincerest sympathy to his Daughters and the Family Circle.
Rest in Peace Eric.
