Erik was a student who brightened up every room and deepened every discussion - in his own amiable way. We were lucky to have him on the English, Media and Cultural Studies programme in IADT. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

Deepest condolances to the Brennan family at this sad time. I knew erik when we were teens and met at weddings, christenings over the years. Erik had a kind sole, always happy and smiling with those lovely blue eyes. He was a gentleman and a good friend to all. May he rest in peace.

Erik had brought no shortage of laughter and fun to myself and many others who had studied along with him in IADT. A warm and good-humoured character who knew how to keep pleasant company and conversations flowing. He will be deeply missed, and my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

My deepest condolences to Erik's family during this incredibly difficult time. I was blessed to have known Erik through college, always the man with the loudest laugh and the biggest heart. I'll never forget his big smile and the way he'd check in on me with an upbeat "Alright, Em?"
Erik had a unique gift for making anyone feel at home, and his joyful spirit, combined with his absolute passion for literature, was truly contagious. Rest easy Erik, it's been a pleasure to know you x

I am so sorry to hear of Erik's passing. My deepest condolences Colleen and to Keith, Greg, Jason, Philip, Alan, Tyrone and extended family and friends. We had many a laugh on Inishbofin, thinking now of the night we had to drive home from Dumhach beach in my car. Unfortunately, the car gearbox gave up and decided to only offer reverse gear, so Erik was standing up through the sunroof guiding my reversing, he said swing left and of course I turned to my left to be met with a roar “the other left – the other left” as we nearly went up onto the wall! We got it together after that and managed to reverse the whole way back to the Doonmore Hotel. We laughed so much on that journey we hurt by the time we got out of the car. Fond memories of Erik and his visits to Inishbofin. Time is a cruel master.

Just heard the news of Erik's passing so sad for the loss of a really unique person. He was the next generation Treky while I was strictly old school original series. Erik was a deep thinking far-seeing person. He delighted in the mystical and arty stuff which went way over my head.

He had the intellect to articulate his views and the courage to speak about them. We met often while he walked around Stepaside he was always courteous and polite and always had a smile and a laugh.

We only knew each other by first names, and he referred to me a Captain Kirk.

Erik as you start your journey to the heavens abord the SSS Enterprise set your course to the unexplored parts of the cosmos your imagination will take you to and set the speed to warp factor 6 . Away my young friend away.

A sad loss. My heart goes out to his family. We shared the love of little creatures.

Very sad news of the passing of Erik. I played rugby with Erik all through Benildus he was the hooker of the team and a very good friend in school and we had many years of fun playing rugby. Very sorry for his families loss and sending my prayers and condolences to them.

Such a smashing, warm man and an absolute joy to have in classes for the two years he was with us. Erik always appeared with a huge smile on his face, surrounded by uproarious guffawing as he and the rest of his crew found laughter in all sort of situations.

So very sorry to hear of Erik's passing. What a gorgeous and gentle guy. Eyes that were always smiling. Fly high Erik.

Went to primary and secondary school with Erik. Had many happy days in Russet Lodge with Solo keeping guard. Soldiered together on the Rugby field and was lucky to have been part of that amazing Junior Cup Rugby team in Bennies who defied the odds and won a Leinster Schools medal. Special times. Erik was larger than life. Any time we met in recent years he always had a big bear hug. His eyes were always smiling. One of lifes really good guys. Deepest sympaties to all of your family. Gone too soon. A few of the lads are up there waiting for you. Rest in peace my friend.

I am so sorry to hear of Eric's passing. I have so many good memories of our teenage years, all growing up together and having fun. We were blessed to have Eric as an integral part of the gang with his warm smile and bright blue eyes to match his warm and sensitive personality. I feel blessed to have known him. I was deeply saddened to hear about Erik’s passing. I have fond memories of all of us growing up in Churchtown, and in later years, I would often meet Erik in Stepaside while out dog walking. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. My thoughts are with Colleen and the Brennan family.

We were so sorry to hear about the sudden passing of Erik who was our neighbour in Stepaside. Erik was a larger-than-life character, and we enjoyed his warmth and energy even if only for short conversations. I recall a conversation I had with Erik about a weekend I had in Clifden Connemara. Erik went into great detail about his trips to the west when he was younger, he listed all the towns on the way and spoke warmly about his time there and how happy he was at this time.
Very fond memories of the time when he had his little dog Rickey whom he loved and walked regularly around the estate, talking to the little mutt constantly even at 6 AM. He loved dogs and birds, and he kept the local wild birds well fed in his garden every day.
He always had a smile and greeted us from his door or garden when we arrived to or left the carpark. Erik had his challenges, and he did his best to deal with them.
We would like to extend our condolences to his mum, brothers and extended family.
Erik, God bless and rest in peace the demons are all gone and the voices quietened.
