So sorry to hear of Ernie's passing. My sincere condolences to Carmel and his extended family. He was such a wonderful character, and his memory lives on in the funny stories we heard from him and try to pass on but without the ability he had to spin a yarn. He still makes us smile.

He was an absolute character, a loveable rogue but most of all, an utter gentleman. Myself and the team in Kilbarrack hold many fond memories of his jokes, his songs, his storytelling, his craic and his undoubted good humour, no matter how well or not so well he may be! On his many visits to the New Ross Terminal he was always very professional in his work but also had a very good sense of humour.

So sorry to hear of Ernie’s passing. I knew him in Esso from 1978 on - he was great company and great craic. Only Ernie could bring a 28 year old Kerryman to a trial for the Dublin Over 30’s!!! Sincere condolences. My thoughts are with you all at this difficult time.
