Ernest was the most intelligent, kindest, and most generous with his knowledge. Every conversation with him left me inspired and grateful for all that I learned. Ernest, I will always keep your memory in my heart.
My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
Paul,
We were very sorry to hear of Ernie’s recent passing. Great memories of chats with him in Portmarnock and drives in the Ford Grenada.

Sincere condolences,
Sincere condolences to Ernest’s family and friends I had the pleasure of working with this fine man for many weeks
He was always a true gentleman to all around him he put a smile on my face every morning I went into him and always gave me a laugh he made me feel so welcome coming into this job as a new girl and couldnt be more thankful for that the many shared laughs we had will not be forgotten rest in peace Ernest
Deepest sympathy on the death of Ernie. May he rest in peace.

I have such good memories of visiting Leo Ave to Ernie's adored parents Ernest and Eileen with my Dad Willie. As a child I just adored Auntie Eileen.
Very sorry to learn of Ernie's departure. With his late brother Richard of Dundrum, as a long-exiled cousin in New Zealand, I was the recipient of warm hospitality during visits to Dublin. My sincere condolences to all the family.
My condolences to Paul and his family and to David’s two stunning looking daughters whom I met this morning. Ernie was my Dad Vincent Gallagher’s first cousin. I only came into his life about 10 years ago on the advice of his brother Dick who told me Ernie had the entire family heritage documented. He duly enlightened me and we had many interesting conversations over the years. To me he was a gentleman with a lot of kindness in his heart. I will miss him dearly.
Báirbre.

Many happy memories of days at various dog shows in the 60s and 70s.
An absolute gentleman. He is now reunited with his beloved Bernie and David.

Rest in peace Ernie.
A lovely man and a great neighbour.

I'm deeply saddened to hear of Uncle Ernie’s passing. Though I’m far away here in Australia, my thoughts are with everyone in Dublin. Uncle Ernie’s warmth, wit, and our shared love of art will always stay with me. He inspired me more than he probably knew. Sending love to all who miss him.

So very sorry to hear of Ernie's passing. He was a lovely neighbour. I remember well the rare treat of a full sized Cadbury bar at Halloween, and I have fond memories of our interesting chats when we visited in more recent times. May he rest in peace.

Paul, my sympathies to you and the family. In recent years I was fortunate to meet Ernie. We enjoyed many telephone discussions which I know I am going to miss. He often expressed his gratitude for the life he has enjoyed, the many kindnesses he has experienced, in particular in recent years and his love for his parents family and his family with Bernie.
Condolences to Paul and family. Really sad to hear of Ernie's passing. A wonderful man whom I was lucky enough to fish with a good bit with his late son David. He loved the outdoors and his dogs.
Later on I spent many afternoons visiting Ernie and having our chats.
He enjoyed showing me his art work and was a great man for advice. We chatted not so long ago even when he was unwell and he was still chirpy and positive.
May he rest in peace
